We do not recycle off-the-shelf answers or just write pretty strategy documents. Instead we roll up our sleeves and work hand in hand with our clients to jointly identify issues, develop solutions, and drive change.
We are sharp and structured thinkers with strategic, analytical, and operational backgrounds who believe that for transformations to succeed, every solution needs to be tailored-made to meet client needs.
Our experience has taught us that for any transformation to stick, staff across all levels of the organisation need to adopt the right attitudes and mindsets. We spend a significant proportion of our time and energy driving cultural change.
We say it as it is, no matter who we interact with, and we are not afraid to challenge and push our clients’ thinking and beliefs.
We have a relentless drive for excellence. If we undertake a task, we will do everything it takes to make our delivery the best possible.
Driving change and influencing hearts and minds of hundreds of people can be intense but we never give up and we do not stop until outstanding results are delivered.
Integrity is the cornerstone of our culture. We hire and we promote for integrity, not just potential.
Effective problem solving is the first step towards impact. We hire the best people that have the intrinsic qualities necessary to succeed.
To be effective, we take the time to understand, engage, and mobilise our clients to co-create solutions.
We are dedicated to improving quality and efficiency of health and social care provision. We strive to be at the forefront of transformation in the sector.
Andreas is the founder and Managing Director of TN. He has led large-scale transformation programmes in NHS hospitals, ambulance services, local health economies, and the independent sector. He has delivered work across a wide range of areas including the emergency pathway and planned care; implementation of Integrated Care for local health economies; ambulance service road operations and make ready transformations, as well as Covid response, and strategy programmes.
The genesis of TN in 2015 was a response to the need of the NHS for more effective consulting support, as articulated by several hospital CEOs at the time. The vision is to provide a consulting offering, which:
Andreas has been meticulous in selecting and developing the team and is actively involved on the ground in every single programme TN undertakes, driving for excellence in delivery.
Over the years, Andreas has served a multitude of hospital leaders (CEOs, MDs, senior executives, Chairmen) and has worked “on the shop floor” with nurses, doctors, and managers in public health systems such as the NHS, ISSTE & IMMS (Mexico) as well as private providers in the UK and Ireland. He has built deep expertise in all the building blocks underpinning healthcare transformations: change management and organisational development, clinical operations, and analytics.
Prior to TN, Andreas was at McKinsey London for ~7years, leading healthcare change in the NHS and internationally (Mexico and Spain). During his McKinsey years Andreas developed hospital operational transformations as one of the largest service lines.
Andreas holds an MBA (Major Finance) from the Wharton School, US and an MA in Economics from Cambridge University UK
Steve joined TN in February 2016 and has worked with a number of health economies delivering projects ranging from emergency pathway improvement to integrated health and social care.
Steve has had a special focus on change management and the redesign of site management functions for hospital providers. He is particularly interested in working with units providing specialised care and has worked with acute stroke units and tertiary services (i.e. Cardiology, Renal & Haematology). Steve has worked across the hospital hierarchy and has a developed in depth understanding of the drivers of efficiency. He enjoys using both qualitative and quantitative sources to identify root causes of inefficiencies and designing simple and workable solutions.
Before TN, Steve worked in consulting based in Sydney, Australia and delivered projects in social entrepreneurship, strategies for rural investment and ITC. Steve holds a Masters in Business from the University of Sydney, during which he spent an exchange year at the University of Oslo where he studied health systems and health economics.
Steve enjoys being outdoors, he is a certified open water diver, has lead a community development project in Vanuatu of twenty 16 – 18-year olds and worked as a professional tennis coach during his undergraduate study.
Jonny joined TN in 2016 and has helped deliver a range of projects across several health economies. He is now one of our Engagement Managers operationally leading projects on the ground, and has a particular interest in delivering transformation in acute hospitals and emergency care, working side by side with clients at all levels of an organisation to embed change, and create a culture of accountability and discipline.
Jonny focuses on change management, co-designing operating systems and processes with our clients, defining structure and building capabilities within teams, and bringing a cultural change in the way people think, feel and conduct themselves both individually and collectively. He is particularly interested in doing this not just through top-down formal programme structures, but also through a bottom-up approach, working with the nursing, medical, and operational teams ‘on the ground’ every day. By combining a detailed understanding of services such as the emergency pathway with an in-depth knowledge of the culture of hospitals, Jonny knows how to challenge and take clients at all levels of an organisation to the next stage, bringing them along in the journey.
In addition, Jonny has recently been assisting our clients in their COVID-19 response. This includes helping organisations enhance their operational processes to deal with the increased pressures and complexities of COVID and to capitalise on windows of opportunity to improve existing services, in some instances radically changing traditional systems and ways of working.
Prior to joining TN, Jonny worked as an Operations Manager for a start-up business in the retail industry, engaging in and leading business strategy and optimisation projects, and building relations with wholesale customers. He holds a BA in Biology from Bristol University.
Jonny is also a keen sportsman, having previously played water polo at a national level.
Henry joined Transformation Nous in 2018, developing comprehensive knowledge of health systems, including in planned care (working closely with the independent sector), and the emergency pathway (with both ambulance services and hospital trusts). He also has expertise across social care including elderly care, mental health, services for high acuity physical & learning disabilities, and neurorehabilitation.
Henry has experience in operational transformation and change management, delivering impact by addressing challenges in systems & processes, management infrastructure (data &information), culture (mindsets & behaviours), and people &capabilities.
In practice, this means spending significant time on-the-ground with clients, working shoulder to shoulder to identify issues, co-create solutions, and support implementation to deliver real, tangible change which, ultimately, improves patient care.
Henry holds an BA in English from the University of Bristol and has previous experience in strategy and commercial due diligence in the health & social care sector.
Annie joined TN in 2018 and has since developed a keen interest in transforming operational efficiency and capability in an outpatient setting. She has largely focused on streamlining communication channels and co-developing solutions with key clinical and managerial staff. For example, she implemented standardised catch-ups between both senior level and departmental staff in a dental hospital, which drove an increase in operational efficiency and optimised resource utilisation. She believes that supporting collaboration between staff is key to shifting organisational culture towards sustainable change.
Annie holds a BSc in Applied Medical Sciences from University College London. Her undergraduate studies focused on the application of science and technology in healthcare and health systems management, which ultimately prompted her to pursue a career in healthcare transformation. Before joining TN, she worked for a life sciences consultancy, carrying out market research and competitor landscape assignments.
In her personal life, Annie is a ‘foodie’, with a love of trying different cuisines and discovering new places to eat.
Daniel joined TN in early 2019 and has since worked on a wide range of projects in the acute pathway, ambulance operations and the independent sector. He works with clients to transform high-level strategies into granular, actionable plans. For example, he co-developed the implementation strategy for transforming operations support across a regional ambulance service and, in July 2020, worked in a team developing a roadmap to recovering elective throughput during the COVID-19 crisis.
Daniel works with clients across departments at all levels of an organisation to build operational insights and inform decision-making. He has a strong interest in change management and uses simple, effective management tools to guide clients and drive rapid implementation of improvement initiatives.
Before joining TN, Daniel graduated from University College London with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on utilising the latest scientific innovations to develop solutions to problems across healthcare. After graduating, Daniel worked for an energy consultancy, preparing and planning for potential future scenarios in the energy industry.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys travelling and meeting new people.
George joined TN in 2019 and works to create sustainable change across the hospital pathway through data-driven insights and on-the-ground implementation of solutions.
Focused predominantly on the acute pathway and site management, George invests time into building relationships with all levels of staff to understand client-specific issues and works closely with individuals to provide tailored solutions and strategies for operational and cultural change. He also develops analytical tools to provide insights and evidence to inform decision-making, building operational grip across the emergency pathway.
Supporting his clients through COVID-19, George has developed a keen interest in demand forecasting and capacity modelling to enable proactive planning and response to changes in bed demand for different patient cohorts.
George holds a MEng in Engineering Design from the University of Bristol. During this time, he chose to tailor his studies to focus on how technology can be utilised to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare.
Outside of work, George has had a successful sporting career, achieving gold at the junior fencing commonwealths.
Hugo joined TN in 2020 and has since worked on several programmes, including the development of a recovery ‘roadmap’ for the independent healthcare sector from the impacts of the Covid pandemic. Through this work, he developed his knowledge of planned care and the drivers of efficiency in operations, as well as the landscape of the independent sector more generally.
Hugo is passionate about change management, particularly cultural change within organisations. He worked closely alongside client teams within an NHS ambulance service to identify and address key cultural barriers to improvement in the organisation.
Hugo is also aware of the potential of digital tools in healthcare and has developed his digital skills through the in-house research, wireframing and design of healthcare tools to deliver innovative and more sustainable technologically enabled solutions.
Prior to joining TN, Hugo spent four years at Imperial College London, studying for a MEng in Materials Science and Engineering that focused on creating sustainable and efficient solar-cell technologies.
Outside of work, Hugo is an avid sportsman, enjoying both team and individual sports.
