Martin joined TN in 2018 and focuses on embedding sustainable improvement from the ground up in healthcare systems. His experience at TN includes working in acute, ambulance and independent settings on projects such as operational transformation, cost improvement and COVID response.
Martin develops relationships with clients across all levels of an organisation and uses his experience in change management to understand clients’ needs and challenge them to improve. Working shoulder-to-shoulder he builds alignment to mobilise teams toward positive and long-term change. For example, he has worked cross-divisionally in an ambulance Trust with senior management to front-line paramedics to co-develop and deliver initiatives that improved operational efficiency, including through developing SOPs, driving live operational discipline and hosting workshops to build capabilities.
Martin has a strong interest in analytics and uses complex analysis and structured thinking to identify the drivers of poor performance and inefficiency. He combines this with qualitative understanding to align clients to the root causes of problems, and then works side-by-side to co-create and implement solutions. Martin has in-depth knowledge of healthcare datasets and how to draw insights from them for the end user. He has used this knowledge working closely with Business Information teams to develop dashboards and tools that drive improved operational decision-making.
Martin is an Oxford University graduate with a Masters in Engineering, Economics and Management. Prior to his time with TN he worked internationally within the biotechnology sector developing new medical technologies. Outside of work Martin is a keen footballer and skier.
